What is the difference between hotels, restaurants, and contract caterers?

errm like the different products and services they offer, i'm so confused=| help!!What is the difference between hotels, restaurants, and contract caterers?
HOTELS

offer sleeping and eating arrangements, EXCEPT Hotel Garni's, here you get accommodation only and nothing to eat, not even breakfast,

RESTAURANTS offer food and drink, from the cheapest fast food to the most exclusive fine dining restaurant

CONTRACT CATERERS, you call them they bring, everything from cutlery, crockery, glass- and table ware and of course also food and drinks. including all the staff that is need to serve. or if needed preparation also could be done up to a certain degree on the premises. think of a BBQ or grill party. What is the difference between hotels, restaurants, and contract caterers?
Hotels offer rooms to sleep in; restaurants offer food to eat there or take out; caterers prepare food to bring and serve at someone else's location. What is there to be confused about?
