As soon as you get your venues booked. Make sure that they offer a tasting before you book them. If they don't, then run fast. Otherwise, you will be locked into a contract that you can't get out of if the tasting isn't to your satisfaction.

My wedding is Aug 14, 2010 and I have my caterer booked already. It doesnt hurt to book now, just look around for the best as you have enough time
ASAP. Caterers book quickly, a year or more in advance is not uncommon.
