I rented a hall for my wedding that you cannot use their kitchen to cook food. I don't want the caterers to

do buffet style dinner. can caterers somehow do this. The hall lets you use the kitchen to prepare but not actually cook the food.I rented a hall for my wedding that you cannot use their kitchen to cook food. I don't want the caterers to
Most caterers will be willing to work with you on a sit-down style dinner (where each person is brought a plate) or a family-style dinner (where large portions are brought to each table)

Talk with them beforehand about it and make sure that you have it expressly stated in the contract which option you are choosing. Depending on a number of factors it may cost a little more.
I had a kosher wedding which means the food needs to be prepared in a kosher kitchen (which the hotel did not have) by and outside kosher caterer. Everything was prepared ahead of time and they had warming stations set up not even in the kitchen but in a small section of the ballroom (separated by a wall from everyone else) we were not using. All the food came out tasting fresh and hot, it worked well. If they can do that, I'm sure your caterer can come up with a way to make it work without using the kitchen to cook. You just need to speak to the caterer about the hotel's rules and make sure they will work around them the day of.I rented a hall for my wedding that you cannot use their kitchen to cook food. Yes! Everything comes in trays all ready to put on the sternos. If the food is coming from a professional no worries, they know the drill. If friends and family are cooking, just don't put a cold tray on a sterno. It will take forever to warm.
When it comes to the food at your wedding, make it as easy as possible for the caterer to do their job. Find another hall. There's nothing worse than crappy food at a wedding.
Most caterers will not use a venue's kitchen for liability reasons. They bring in their own ovens and stovetops. A sit down dinner should be no problem.

Even though we had a buffet our caterer brought in the necessary equipment to cook on site so no food was cooked beforehand.
Yes caterers where i am at do go to the place with food ready... but the thing is where will they heat it up...

I've seen them tdo this too... they bring tents and leave it outside and does everything inside the tent and its all good...

I had the same problem at my wedding (3 months ago) so i changed my hall.... maybe you should do that too...
Well, I guess you could get the little flame cans that they use to keep buffet food warm to heat up the catered food and then serve it from the kitchen. That way you wouldn't be using any of their appliances or anything.
We plan to do this at our wedding. The hall we rented let us just heat the food with the buffet stainless steel containers with burners under them. He doesn't allow cooking in his facility. Good Luck.
I think what they are saying is they have a setup that will allow them to warm up food or make up plates, but do not have a full kitchen to cook in. What that means is the food has to be either fully cooked or just needs to finish getting to temperature before service.

Talk to your caterers about this and see what options they have for you.
