What type of schooling do you need to be an at-home caterer?

I'm not even sure if i'm calling it the right thing, but the type of person people book who are having dinner parties or things like that and don't feel like cooking. You buy ingredients in bulk, cook straight from home and bring it to them. What is the pay for this field, and how many years of schooling would I need to become one? I'm graduating high school in the spring %26amp; need to get my @ss in gear, i'm torn between doing this or going to equestrian college. What type of schooling do you need to be an at-home caterer?
You should find a school that offers a 2-year program in culinary arts. There is more to catering than just being able to prepare dinners to schlep over to someone's home. SUNY Delhi (NY) has an excellent program like this.
